Asking where Dua Lipa might spend her honeymoon is kind of like asking that evergreen question, “What do you get for a girl who has everything?” The pop star is nothing if not a vacanza queen, and her new husband, Callum Turner, seems more than happy to keep up. So where on earth would a person like Dua choose to spend the most romantic vacation of her life? She lives every day like it’s a bucket list day, and for that, I admire her. But it also makes this a challenge.

From inside sourcing and paparazzi stalking, we know she spent her bachelorette in Ibiza, Spain, and her destination wedding is this weekend in Palermo, Sicily. They reportedly landed on Sicily as the venue after taking a vacation there together last year. They recently went on a safari in South Africa. They seem to spend a disproportionate amount of their time on yachts. Basically, they’ve done it all.

We called on expert travel advisors to give us their thoughts on where they would send the queen of vacations for her honeymoon.

Kisawa Sanctuary—Benguerra Island, Mozambique

“This would be a truly magic, off-the-grid, total romance honeymoon. It is on the tip of Benguerra Island, with forests, beach, and sand dunes and has thatched roofs but super-high luxury beach bungalows. It’s an incredibly remote island, so—by the nature of the place alone, the cost of getting there, and the cost of staying there—it is very discreet and private. The hotel and the team are very used to security measures and keeping their guests with the utmost privacy. Dua and Callum have been everywhere, and so that would be a proper, off-the-grid beach holiday.” —Nicole Campoy Jackson, senior travel advisor at Marchay

Private Boat Charter—Sicilian or Aeolian Islands

“I could see them doing a private boat charter off one of the smaller Aeolian or Sicilian islands, like Pantelleria or Panarea. She loves a yacht. You’re off Sicily, so it’s not far for paparazzi to find them, which is why I would say taking a private boat to one of those smaller islands would be naturally protective.”

Gorilla Trekking, Kwitonda Lodge—Rwanda

“This a very emotional and purposeful kind of experiential travel, which seems to align really well with the type of person that she is. Because it is such an emotional and intense experience to see gorillas up close, it’s something I recommend my clients share with a person they love. It’s intimate, it’s sophisticated, and it’s for erudite travelers who have perhaps already been on safari and have done a lot of the bucket list items. Kwitonda Lodge is a newer luxury property, very conservation led. It’s an extraordinary experience but not excessive. It’s not ‘see and be seen,’ which I don’t think is her vibe.

I’d pair this with the capital of Rwanda, which is Kigali. It’s a super-vibrant city that has lots of designers and cool young entrepreneurs doing cool things, which I think she would love.” —Julia Flood, luxury travel advisor at FORA Travel

Antiparos or Folegandros—Greek Islands

“Because she’s getting married in Sicily, if she wants to stay in that area, then perhaps the Greek islands, but more the under-the-radar Greek islands. I was thinking of Gundari Hotel on Folegandros, which is definitely under the radar. You have to get there by boat or ferry. There’s no airport on that island. There’s one village, which is probably, in my opinion, the quaintest and most beautiful village in The Cyclades. The property there is luxury, but it’s still down-to-earth. It’s secluded on the island but not so much so that she can’t dip into town and go for dinners and drinks in a small little town square, which I think is her vibe, too.

Or maybe The Rooster on Antiparos, which is often called the Hamptons of Greece. It’s a bit more barefoot luxury than that, and The Rooster is a beautiful, very in-the-know property. The bar and the restaurant can be very quite lively and fun, but the rooms are all little individual bungalows. You can stay in your room, enjoy your private pool, and then you can dip into the main bar for sunset views.” —Julia Flood, luxury travel advisor at FORA Travel

Most people would expect a celebrity couple like Dua and Callum to go to the Amalfi Coast or the Maldives. But they’ve likely already been there. As Flood puts it, “For a honeymoon, I always try for somewhere neither of the two people in the couple have been, so that you’re discovering it together for the first time.” For Dua and Callum, that list is probably shorter than it is for most. Wherever they end up, I can’t wait to see the pictures.
